High Adventure

National High Adventure is the opportunity to take your Scouting experiences to the next, adrenaline pumping level. Different from a traditional Scout summer camp experience, merit badges aren’t the focus (but that doesn’t mean you can’t earn a few while you’re at it) and instead it’s all about making memories and getting experiences that will stick with you for life.

Northern Tier

One of the 4 high adventure bases is right here in Minnesota! The Troop last visited Northern Tier in February 2020 and participated in the musher program and cabin stay camp. We have not participated in their summer programming, all though we have visited the BWCA outside of Northern Tier.

Sea Base

The Troop last visited Florida Sea Base in August 2019 and took two crews to the out island adventure. In addition to the Sea Base adventure, we spent two nights in Key West and took the tour of Fort Jefferson on Dry Tortuga.

Philmont

The Troop visited Philmont with a crew in 2018.

Summit Bechtel Reserve

Though we have not taken a crew to Bechtel, it is the site of the National Jamboree which several Scouts from our Troop have attended.

Grand Slam

Scouts who participate in programs at all of the High Adventure bases can earn the Grand Slam of High Adventure. Scouts who participate in at least three High Adventures earn the Triple Crown.

National Jamboree

Every four years, the BSA hosts the National Jamboree at Summit Bechtel Reserve. We had 2 Scouts attend the last Jamboree and several plan to attend the Jamboree in 2023.
